Gethsemane appears in the Greek of the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Mark. According to Luke 22:43–44, Jesus’ anguish on the Mount of Olives (Luke does not mention Gethsemane; Luke 22:39-40) was so deep that “his sweat was as it were significant drops of blood falling to the ground.
