Vitus

This name derives from the Ancient Germanic root “*widu / Vitu,” which means “forest as a borderline, forest, wood, tree.” Some forms of the name derived from the Latin “vīta,” which means “life.” Guido In the past was the diminutive form of other names, such as Guidobaldo and Guidalberto, which are Germanic, but already in the past, “Wido” was confused with Latin Vitus (today Vito), which in fact in many languages all names are entirely equivalent. Saint Guy of Anderlecht was a Christian saint. He was known as the Poor Man of Anderlecht. 2) Saint Vitus, according to Christian legend, was a Christian saint from Sicily. He died as a martyr during the persecution of Christians by co-ruling Roman Emperors Diocletian and Maximian in 303.
