In turn, the name means “of the lord, holy to the lord.” 1) Kuriakose Elias Chavara was the co-founder and first Prior General of the first congregation for men in the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, now known as the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate, and a similar one for women, the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel. His canonization is set for 23 November 2014. 2) Ciriaco María Sancha y Hervás (1833–1909) was a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who served as Archbishop of Toledo, Primate of Spain, and Patriarch of the West Indies. 3) Kyriakos (1798–1863) was a Greek archaeologist from Athens. He fought in the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire.
