Chelidonium majus, commonly known as greater celandine, is a herbaceous perennial plant, the only species in the genus Chelidonium. It is native to Europe and western Asia and introduced widely in North America. Saint Celedonio († ~298) was a Roman soldier. He is a martyr of the Catholic Church and Saint Emeterio, patron of Santander’s city.
