Ilsebet

This name derives from the Biblical Greek “Elisábet (Ελισάβετ),” a form of the Hebrew name Elisheva (‘ĕlı̂ysheba’), which in turn is composed of two elements: the “ʾēl” (God, the God of Israel) plus “sh’ vu’a (sh-b-ʿ)” (oath).
