Dèmocles

This name derives from the Ancient Greek “Damoklês ‎(Δαμοκλῆς),” composed of two elements: “dêmos ‎(δῆμος)” (people, ordinary people, district, country, land) plus “kléos (κλέος)” (rumor, report, good report, fame, glory). In turn, the name means “glory of the people, also interpreted as glory to the nation, the glory of our land.” Damocles is a figure featured in a single moral anecdote commonly referred to as “the Sword of Damocles,” which was a late addition to classical Greek culture. The figure belongs properly to legend rather than Greek myth.
