In Roman mythology, Camilla of the Volsci was the daughter of King Metabus and Casmilla. 1) Saint Camillus de Lellis (1550–1614) was an Italian priest who founded a religious Order dedicated to the sick’s care. 2) Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour (1810–1861), generally known as Cavour, was an Italian statesman and a leading figure in the movement toward Italian unification. 3) The Lady of the Camellias is a novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils, first published in 1848, and subsequently adapted for the stage.
