He wrote Ekphraseis (Statuarum descriptiones), descriptions of fourteen works of art in stone or brass by distinguished artists. 3) Callistratus was a Roman jurist, who, as appears from passages in Justinian's Digest, wrote at least as late as the reign (198–211 AD) of Septimius Severus and Caracalla.
