The theories include: 1) Old Persian “Armina” referring Proto-Armenians territories inhabited, closest to Aramaeans (who lived in Amida). 2) Armenía (Ἀρμενία) Arménioi (Ἀρμένιοι) is mentioned by Hecataeus of Miletus (~550–476 BC). Xenophon, a Greek general serving in some of the Persian expeditions, describes many aspects of Armenian village life and hospitality in around 401 BC.
