He is best known for his appearance in Plato’s symposium. An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, often depicted in humanoid form with feathered wings on their backs and halos around their heads, found in various religions and mythologies. 1) Agathangelos was a supposed secretary of Tiridates III, King of Armenia, under whose name there has come down a life of the first apostle of Armenia, Gregory the Illuminator, who died about 332. 2) Saint Agathangelus of Rome († 312), was a Roman deacon and disciple of Clement of Ancyra, was a martyr during the reign of Emperor Diocletian.
